ENDOCRINOLOGY
Endocrinology is a field in science and medicine that studies the endocrine system which is composed of glands, and glands are  "regulating organs" that releases hormones which commands different physiologic and chemical functions in the body.

What are Hormones?
is a chemical released by a cell or a gland in one part of the body that sends out messages that affect cells in other parts of the body.

Importance?
In short Endocrinology plays a vital role in our body’s intrinsic balance. Central nervous system is the command center of our body, but based on books that I've red endocrine system also a semi or mini control center that regulates other developmental functions.

The secretion of some hormones is commanded by other hormones, meaning that there is a need of stimulating hormones, enabling other glands to secrete their own. The master gland that produces stimulating hormone is the Pituitary gland. Pituitary gland has two half, the Anterior and the Posterior. Anterior pituitary gland releases stimulating hormones that helps the following glands: thyroid, adrenal cortex, melanocytes of the skin, ovary in females (where egg cells are released), testes in males (where sperm cells are produced), follicles in the ovary of female, and seminiferous tubules in male (where testosterone is secreted). The Posterior pituitary gland on the other hand releases hormones that helps the following: Kidneys, Uterus and Mammary glands.
